Ainda / Still

Every once in a while, I find myself smiling while staring at a moment in the past, oblivious of what happens around me. I find myself embraced by a warm feeling that asks me desperately to never cease, so it never has to return, so it may never be forced to go... I find myself living the moments that made our eyes shine, a glow I can never intend to describe or explain as it was so ours... that glow... that we were able to see and feel when the darkness of the night was not but a pathetic and inocuous attempt to stop us from sharing our lives. Finally aware of life, we gave ourselves and lived each other without looking at tomorrow; we were simple and true and we laughed at the rules of the world. What we have is stronger; what we have does not have to obey. Out of love, it is and nothing else requires.
And the smile that every once in a while finds me staring at a moment in the past, meets me now and still overwhelmed by the darkness of not sharing myself with you.
